Capsule Geology

The property is located on the northwest side of the Kimsquit River, three kilometres from Kimsquit Lake, about 185 kilometres south of Smithers.

Pyrite, chalcopyrite and molybdenite occur in quartz veins and fractures in Coast Plutonic Complex quartz monzonite. The quartz monzonite intrudes granodiorite, quartz diorite and metavolcanics. Dark green andesitic dikes, some rich in feldspar, cut the intrusive rocks, where this occurs the fracturing and mineralization appears to be most intense.

The Kim 1-4 claims were held by Kerr Addison Mines Limited in 1970. Work during the year included geological mapping, and 57 metres of diamond drilling in one hole. A 30 metre section of core from the lone drillhole returned 0.10 per cent Cu and 0.0196 per cent MoS2. A six-metre section of this core assayed 0.16 per cent Cu and 0.046 per cent MoS2 (Property File Rimfire Kerr Addison Mines Ltd., 1970).
